Segura Viudas - Spanish Cava

Segura Viudas ARIA Extra Dry

Segura Viudas ARIA Estate Extra Dry

Segura Viudas hand crafts distinctive, artisan méthode champenoise sparkling wines according to Cava traditions begun over 100 years ago. Steeped in rich Spanish heritage and situated on an estate that dates to the 11th century, Segura Viudas draws on this legacy, blending it with modern winemaking to create sophisticated yet approachable Cavas. The Segura Viudas wines come from the renowned Penedès region of Spain just outside of Barcelona. The ARIA line spotlights select vineyards, the romance that old-vine Parellada can produce, and low fermentation temperatures yielding delicacy, aroma and the signature grace of cuvées.

Winemaker's Notes
ARIA Estate Extra Dry embraces flavors of fresh pineapple, apples and pears, honey, caramel and a bit of citrus. It is fruity and well-balanced with a long off-dry finish.

Sommelier's Recommendation
ARIA Extra Dry has the most exquisite lightly sweet citrus tones which are the perfect foil for lightly spicy, zesty foods, such as Mexican cuisine or Asian dishes like sashimi, with which it creates a perfect balance and gives a refreshing finish.

"Flavors of melon, mango and kiwi are sweet, while the finish suggests corn cakes and tropical fruits."
- Wine Enthusiast, November 2012

"Quite smoky, accenting rich pear pastry, quince paste, marzipan and candied lemon peel notes. This is lightly creamy, with a fine bead and a subtle finish."
- Wine Spectator, December 2011

"Floral scents of apple blossoms fill this off-dry Cava. It's light, airy and firm, a refreshing end to a summer picnic."
- Wine & Spirits, August 2009
